Government denies $3.2million branded Chocolate deal

Government has denied media reports it is ordering about $3.2million worth of branded chocolates meant for the Ghana @60 celebrations.

Social media at the weekend was flooded with images of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on the wrap of a chocolate with the claim it had been ordered for the anniversary celebrations.

But acting Director of Communications at the presidency Eugene Arhin told mynewsgh.com that government has not made such orders as claimed and called on the public to disregard it.

According to him, it is a propaganda move by some faceless individuals to make the government look bad in the face of Ghanaians who have so much confidence in the current administration to deliver on its mandate.

Some elements within the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the weekend started questioning the justification by government to order the said branded chocolates at a whooping cost of $3.2million.

Government has since denied the claim and insists the pictures of the president and his vice were photo shopped.
