Feeder roads in Jaman dstricts to be rehabilitated

Drobo (B/A) June 28, GNA - Mr. Emmanuel Nketiah, Senior Works Superintendent of Feeder Roads Department in Jaman district of Brong Ahafo, has said virtually all leading feeder roads in Jaman North and Jaman South districts would be rehabilitated.

Speaking in an interview with Ghana News Agency he called for calm and asked the people to exercise restraint as contract documents on the major feeder roads had been submitted for the work to take off. He said the area engineer of Feeder Roads, Mr. Samuel Adu-Boateng, had submitted reports on the projects as well as other abandoned projects to the regional headquarters in Sunyani.

The Senior Works Superintendent explained that the reports included state of roads, including culvert positions on Dodosuo-Baafea feeder road, Kofitiakrom outskirt culverts and Kofiko-Zezera culverts, adding Baabafoe junction erosion was also being considered.

Mr. Nketiah stated that the major leading roads, which had their documents prepared and were ready for take off soon cut across the length and breadth of both Jaman North and South districts. The roads include the 66-kilometres road linking Japekrom to Basakrom and other feeder roads, awarded to a Sunyani based contractor. The 66.5 kilometres Suma-Ahenkro-Kabile-Febiano road awarded to M/S Donyina Contract Works Ltd in Kumasi will be reshaped soon, he added. Mr Nketiah said other roads to be rehabilitated are Sampa-Kokoa-Bepoase feeder roads and Babianeha-Atuna and others. The Works Superintendent said the 68.4 kilometre road linking Seketia-Goka-Tanokrom and other feeder roads would also take off soon. In a related development, Mr Victor Okrah, Jaman South District Engineer said the Dwenem outskirt culverts would also be tackled.
