Expedite work on our road - Farmers of Ayensuano District plead

Over twenty farming communities in the Ayensuano District have appealed to the Ministry of Roads and Highways to expedite work on the overpass between Akwamu and Adoagyiri–Nsawam, and save people from the frequent armed robbery attacks.

Mr. Alex Ofori Agyekum, an opinion leader of Otoase, making the appeal on behalf of the communities, said armed robbers have taken advantage of the poor nature of the road beneath the overpass to rob the poor defenseless farmers.

He said the communities of Otoase, Coaltar, Akwamu, Kofisah, Ayibontey, Marfukrom, Krabokese, Dokorochiwah and Kraboa are all joined in this call for work to be completed on the road.

Chief Superintendent Samuel Buabeng, Nsawam Police Commander in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said they keep receiving several armed robbery complaints but before they get to the scene the robbers abscond from the area.

He appealed to the public to volunteer information to the Police on time for them to act promptly.
