Ejura-Sekyedomase vows not to entertain Fulani herdsmen

Ejura (Ash), Nov 15, GNA - The Krontihene of Ejura has called on the people in the area to remain vigilant and prevent Fulani herdsmen evicted from Agogo from settling there with their cattle.

Nana Diasempa Antwi Obugyei II said the traditional and administrative boundaries of the Ejura-Sekyedomase district must be closely watched to thwart any influx.

He said the area has already had its share of the destruction of food crop farms by the herdsmen and their animals and could not tolerate them.

Nana Obugyei was speaking at a colourful durbar to mark the celebration of the annual "Sekyerene" (Yam) festival of the area at Ejura.

He invited his colleague traditional leaders to take lessons from atrocities visited on their Agogo neighbours and reject the Fulanis in their communities.
