'Coach' promises to prioritise education, sanitation and build human capacity in Nii Okaiman East

Mr Patrick Mantey Commodore, an Assemblymember aspirant for Nii Okaiman East electoral area in the Anyaa Sowutuom constituency has pledged to prioritise education, sanitation and human capacity building towards the well-being of the people if elected into office.

He said he would mobilise resources to offer free tuition to needy pupils and students during vacations to brighten their chances of climbing up the academic ladder.

Speaking to the media in Accra, Mr Commodore who is popularly known as 'Coach' promised to promote a clean environment, improve security and push for infrastructure development projects to improve the living conditions of the people in Nii Okaiman East.

He said the decision to contest for the assembly member slot, was borne out of his desire to assist speed up the socio-economic transformation of the community by harnessing the people's potentials for development.

Outlining his achievements, Mr Commodore said he lobbied for streetlights and dustbins for some houses within the electoral area. He also mentioned that he organises quarterly health screening for the residents.

Mr Commodore said, the people in the community are in dire need of developmental projects and empowerment to improve upon their purchasing power.

"Our people, especially at the grassroots, are in dire need of real empowerment that will transform their lives and in addition affect the lives of others.

"We are talking of real equipment in education, skill, vocations and entrepreneurship development that would transform their lives," Mr Commodore said.

'Coach' who had been described as workaholic promised that when elected he would ensure that the area enjoyed constant water flow and he would increase the patronage of the Chantan market by introducing a yam and onion market which would attract people from far and near.

Mr Commodore advised the electorates not to succumb to the idea of selling their votes for any monetary inducement in whatever form.

In a related development, Mr Jeremiah Zodanu, an incumbent unit committee member who is contesting to retain his position in the electoral area promised to liaise with the assembly aspirant to lobby for the construction of a Community Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound for the residents to make health care accessible.
