Classic FM of Techiman to celebrates ten years of radio broadcast

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Classic FM, Mr. Fred Zeini has called on media practitioners to be circumspect in going about their daily duties since the slightest mistake can lead to a chaotic situation especially in the Techiamn Municipality of the Brong Ahafo Region where politics is not all that accommodative as it should.

He made this known to at media briefing ahead of Saturday’s tenth anniversary celebration in the Techiman Municipality by the station. He called on journalists in the Brong Ahafo Region to live up to expectation adding that the ink fraternity contributes a lot to the socio economic development of the country.

Mr. Fred Zeini continued that the time has come for journalists to go into investigative side of the job to bring out hidden stories in one way or the other for the world at large to know the true picture of the Ghanaian community.

He congratulated the workers of Classic FM for doing their best to maintain the standard of the station even though the airwaves have been influx with more stations in the Region.

Mr. Fred Zeini assured the listeners of the best Radio Station in the Brong Ahafo that the station has repackage programmes to suite loyal listeners in the coming year. Torching on his ambition on his intended TV Station, the CEO said plans are far afoot to bring it into reality.

On her part Mrs. Naomi Zeini called on young women who have the ambition of getting to the top in the media business to gather courage pass through the right channel and go for their desired goal. According to her most ladies lack courage to pursue such goals making men over shadow the women in the ink fraternity.

Mrs. Naomi Zeini said the time has come for more women to take up challenges in the said sectors since women as they were created can deliver in all sectors in the aspect of modern journalism in Ghana.

The Programmes Director of the FM Station, Mr. Clement Asante told newsmen that the stations will be coming out with more programmes to suit listeners both in Techiman and the surrounding district like Sene, Atebuu, Ejura, Nkoranza, Wenchi, Sunyani Duayawnkwanta, Bole Bamboi, Sampa and some parts of the Northern Region.

Mr., Clement Asante affectionately called Great Dowa said the station has more plans to face the future on delivering what listeners really want adding that plans are far afoot to still hold the Brong Ahafo airwaves.

As part as activities making the celebrations fun games were held for various sporting clubs in the Municipality, a visit by the station to some selected orphanages in Nkoranza, Techiman, Wenchi and Akumadan to present to them food stuffs, detergents, clothes and assorted drinks worth thousands of Ghana cedis.

A durbar would be held at the fore court of the Techiman Omanhene,s Palace to climax the celebrations with a night street jam for music lovers who danced till the early hour of the next morning.
