Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has donated an undisclosed amount of money among other things to churches in the North East Region.

North East Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Sulley Sambian who made the donation on behalf of the Vice President called on them to continue to pray for peace in Ghana ahead of the 2020 polls.

He challenged them to serve as ambassadors of peace and not allow themselves to be used by some politicians in the pursuit of a personal political agenda underscoring the need for Ghana to emerge from the polls as a one united country.

The NPP executive used the occasion to thank the churches for the continuous prayers for the President and the Vice President and also explained to them the need for them to embrace the idea of a new voters’ register, urging them to come out n register when the process begins.

“Your brother and son Dr Bawumia have you all in heart and means well for you. Continue to remember him and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in your daily prayers as that is the only way we can move the country forward. This is just to show you that he is with you all the time despite being away on other busy national assignments”, he revealed.

He added “The president and his vice mean well for the good people of Ghana. They have demonstrated beyond doubt that their love for the people of the North East Region is unflinching. I’ll urge the church and people of the North East Region to take advantage of the voter registration exercise in April and get their names enrolled onto the register”.

At the Nakpanduri Presbyterian Church, he added 100 bags of cement for the completion of a project.

Leaders and pastors of the various churches visited were unanimous in acknowledging the gesture by Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and prayed to God for long life and wisdom to carry on his official duties.
