The Minister for Youth and Sports Isaac Kwame Asiamah has boldly assured that Ghanaians will experience the best sports infrastructural development under the presidency of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Speaking at this morning's Minister's Press Briefing, the minister said the government of Akufo-Addo understands the importance of infrastructure in the development of the sports sector and as the government has already started will continue to ensure significant development of sports infrastructure in the country.

"I can assure you that this regime is going to be touted as the best in terms of sports infrastructure. I am grateful to President Nana Akufo-Addo for his vision for sports development. It's all about infrastructure if you don't have it how can you take athletes out there when they are not exposed?. They will go and mess up and cannot contribute so much," he said.

The Sports Minister in a part of his brief also mentioned that his tenure as sports minister has seen one of the most effective implementations of maintenance measures when it comes to sports facilities across the country. He added that the National Sports Authority under his ministry is working to develop a maintenance manual for sports facilities in the country.

“Since I became the Minister for Youth and Sports maintenance is one of the things we don't take for granted at all. Before we came in the Accra sports stadium was dead, there was no life. Now it's back to life. When you go to Kumasi Sports Stadium it's closed down for renovation. When maintenance is not routine you have to incur more cost to bring the place back to life. But I can assure you that when we are done with the renovation works every facility will have a maintenance manual that will be followed religiously," he indicated.
