A tragic accident on the Tatale–Zabzugu road in the Northern Region on Friday night October 24, 2025, has claimed three lives and left more than ten others injured.

According to multiple reports, the collision, which occurred near Kukpalgu, involved a Kia truck with registration number GW-5828-17 and a stationary Motorking tricycle that had reportedly broken down and been abandoned on the road.

According to eyewitnesses, the Kia truck was transporting traders who were returning from the Kukpalgu market when it rammed into the stationary tricycle.

The crash is said to have been caused by poor visibility, which was worsened by the bright headlights of an oncoming vehicle from the Zabzugu direction.

“The truck driver was temporarily blinded by the lights of an oncoming car and couldn’t spot the Motorking parked in the middle of the road,” one witness is quoted to have recounted.

Two passengers reportedly died instantly, while a third was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Tatale District Hospital.

According to the report, more than ten others sustained varying degrees of injury and are currently receiving treatment at the same facility.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital morgue for preservation and identification.
