National Organiser and Acting General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has said he will win the Saturday internal polls to become the substantive General Secretary of the party.

According to him, the response from his nation-wide campaign tour has been positive, a situation he believes will secure him the needed victory.

The NPP will be holding its primaries to elect new executives who will steer affairs of the party for the next four years.

The polls are scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22, 2018.

As part of activities towards the polls, all the aspirants who are vying for various positions within the party are embarking on their campaign activities across the country.

Mr. Boadu told the host of Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM, Chief Jerry Forson, on Thursday, April 19 that plans are far advanced to ensure a successful internal election.

He cautioned all the aspirants to desist from verbal attacks against each other, as such attitude will only empower the opponents of the NPP ahead of the 2020 general elections.

“I am confident I will win the polls because of the response my team received from the nation-wide campaign we embarked on.

“I have served the party right from my secondary school days to the University and even when I left university, rather than picking up a lucrative job, I chose to serve the party. And so I believe the delegates will vote for me.”

He added: “Preparations are far advanced to ensure that the polls are successful”
