GFP executives desert Akua Donkor to endorse Akufo-Addo

The entire national executives of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), have deserted their leader, Madam Akua Donkor, to endorse the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the 2016 presidential elections.

Their decision to endorse the NPP leader, they argued, is because their programs and policies as contained in their manifesto is consonance with that of the NPP.

They are also of the view that their unflinching support and commitment to the candidature of the NPP presidential candidate in the upcoming presidential elections is premised on the leadership qualities of Nana Akufo-Addo.

They are hopeful that when Nana Akufo-Addo is voted into power and implements those programs and policies, Ghana will be a better place to live in.

National Communication Director of the GFP, Alex Ababio, in an interview with Kasapafmonline.com, confirmed the position the party executives have taken.

He said they took the decision after thoroughly assessing the manifestos of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the NPP.

According to him, Nana Akufo-Addo has demonstrated that he is a selfless leader who is not corrupt and has vast superior record of fighting corruption and social injustice in the country, hence, their endorsement.

The position of the executives, is contrary to that of the leader, Akua Donkor, who has since the 2012 general elections, endorsed the presidency of Mr. John Dramani Mahama.
