We’ll not abandon friends, partners - Akufo-Addo

The British Prime Minister Theresa May was in South Africa and today in Abuja Nigeria and later tomorrow in Lagos. She proceeds to Kenya by close of the week, all in direct contacts with the strategic African/British Business partnership. Where does Ghana belong in the new global British interest and what is the volume of British investments in Ghana that Ghana is relegated to the back ground and Kenya being considered first among the lots that is worth the British government an attention. We make so much noise in Ghana while we think African renaissance revolves around us but the world out there see us with a different lense hense a British minister was rather sent to Nana Akuffo Addo with a promise of a paltry £20 Million Pounds, deemed deserving our status in Africa. We Ghanaians choose to deal the British and Queen of England in very hollow and self adulating pedestrian engagements of organising worthless dinners with the Otumfuo Asantehene while, others are more interested in events that are of economic benefits to the entire country. Celebrating the dead is the priority of the government of Ghana, the 75th anniversary of the death of the President's lineage family Okyehene was marked, Dr. Abrefa Busia's 40th death anniversary is also underway while the government is engaged in the construction of a controversial National Cathedral. Our problems are enormous in Ghana yet we wake everyday to see ourselves on the mirror be and smile while others are far ahead.
