An aspiring flagbearer candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Stephen Atubiga, has written to officially inform the leadership of the umbrella family of his intent to contest for the flagbearer position of the party.

His intent letter was also accompanied by how he will run the country when giving the mandate to do so.

He told the leadership of the party that under his tenure as President of the country, people who work will handsomely be rewarded.

“I have a lot to offer towards the rebuilding and development of the National Democratic Congress and Ghana if am given the opportunity. I am ready physically, psychologically and religiously ready to lead NDC and Ghana. I will be an all-inclusive leader, a team player, tolerant and a listening leader for the NDC and for Ghanaians. No monkey de work, baboon dey chop under my leadership”, Atubiga’s official letter dated August 7, 2018, which was delivered to the leadership of the party in Accra same day in part read.

He added “One promise I can give to the leadership and grassroots of the National Democratic Congress is that under my leadership I will always remember that, the mother of our government is the NDC, and so, 70 out of 100 of my appointments will be from the party’s mandate and sanctioning. I have always had the belief that it is how well you can serve and give to your party that matters and not what your party can do for you, especially, when the party is in opposition”.

Poor boy from Binduri

He said as a very poor boy from Binduri, he has always had the dream of leading Ghana one day and therefore took inspiration from some of the great leaders the world has ever produced like Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Steve Biko, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, Dr. Hilla Liman, Prof. John Evans Atta-Mills and the immediate flagbearer of the NDC, Mr. John Dramani Mahama.

He was very confident of the people’s vote having received the blessings of the grassroots and opinion leaders in the NDC including some Chiefs.
