Manasseh is writing as a news editor and a journalist, but not as an economist or somebody who can diagnose the distinctions in two different economic fundamentals. What I can deduce in his writing is just simple, “describing apples and oranges as same, because they all come under the family of fruits”. What a blind argument ! First of all: John Cribo Mahama\ Mills administrations inherited a much stronger and stable economic fundamentals from the Kuffour/ Alliu Mahama administration. The debt servicing and burden on the economy in 2009 was minimal and less damaging — and that should’ve propelled the Mahama administration to continue with the trend of that tumultuous economic growth —like what happened in China and Singapore after the Chinese cultural revolution. But instead, what did we see? The catastrophic fallout from the corruption and mismanagement that ensued is not worth writing about. Dolling out billions of dollars to cronies and family members in lieu of paying judgment debts is what even broke the back of the horse. Akuffo- Addo is doing a deferent thing as Gabby said, and that is the painful truth; that the debt burden his cousin inherited is so alarming, and not only that : workers salaries, pensioners scheme and the NHIS, Dumso menace, School feeding proprietors and contractors among many others were owned to the tune of several billion of cedis. Do people realize this? Although Akuffo- Addo has not made Ghanaians rich and self sufficient overnight, but the 18 month government is worth congratulating and not be chastised as Manasseh and his paid hooligans are doing!!!
