A Kumasi-based Prophet Adu Boahene has predicted a heavy defeat for Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako widely known as Chairman Wontumi in the upcoming Regional elections should his closest contender Asare Bediako refuse to allow him go unopposed.

Wontumi who is seeking reelection as the party’s regional chairman currently faces a tough competition from Chairman Asare Bediako and according to the man of God, he sees Wontumi losing his seat to Mr. Asare Bediako in the spiritual realm.

Speaking on Abusua Nkommo on Abusua 96.5 FM, Prophet Adu Boahene told host Kwame Adinkrah that the only thing that can avert Chairman Wontumi’s loss is when competitor Asare Bediako decides to pull out of the keenly contested race.

Reports in the media on Sunday April 1 suggested that the incumbent Chairman of the Ashanti Regional branch of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, will go unopposed in the party’s upcoming regional elections after some bigwigs in the NPP persuaded his contender Asare Bediako to step down.

And according to the man of God, the Asokwa chairman of the party, Asare Bediako has the full backing of delegates in the region worth making him a winner in the regional elections later this month hence him being persuaded to pull out of the hot race.

He however predicted massive confusion and division in the NPP in the Ashanti Region should leaders in party indeed silence Asare Bediako and allow Wontumi to go unopposed adding such a decision would hugely affect the party in the Ashanti region going into the 2020 general polls.
