NPP group urges delegates to vote for Akasi Miezah as Western Regional treasurer

The Concerned Communicators of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western Region have urged the delegates to vote massively for Miss Anne Akasi Homa Miezah as the next party's Treasurer to manage the finances of the party till 2022.

The party has started vetting of aspirants and working on balloting for positions pending the main elections slated for 21-24 of April 2018.

Miss Akasi Miezah is contesting for the treasurer position with three others.

She has been vetted successfully by the election committee over the weekend and placed on the fourth position on the ballot paper.

A statement signed by the group's Public Relations Officer, Ishmael Avo Miezah and copied to GhanaWeb's Western Regional Correspondent indicated that the position of Western Regional treasurer goes beyond just occupying office but would be able to serve as the financial engine and catalyst to winning more votes for the NPP in 2020 general elections.

He described Miss Akasi as a financial driver and as someone who has the ability to manage and maintain financial resources to develop any institution hence deserved to be voted for as the party's treasurer.

He also appealed to the delegates to vote for someone who can carefully and judiciously manage funds in the party and will be accountable to all which are the hallmarks of Msis Akasi.

"Notwithstanding we should not forget that such enviable vision and mission comes at a cost as well exposing us to a serious financial crisis, which ought to be carefully and judiciously managed by a person with a strong financial background, Good lobbying skills, with great connection to make things happen rather than voting base on whom we know, whom we eat with among others", he explained.

He therefore used the opportunity to congratulate the newly elected Constituency Executives for their overwhelming victory during their elections.

He also urged them to be united as one family and work hard for the party to win both parliamentary and presidential seats in 2020.

First of all, we would use this opportunity to congratulate you for your overwhelming victory during the Constituency Election, and urge you all to come together and unity the party ahead of the 2020 elections in Western Region, let's all remember that we are one family with one common sense of purpose thus winning both Presidential and Parliamentary seats for the great NPP party.

Whatever we think of today would definitely create our future tomorrow!

Greetings to you fellow patriots, we would love to ask for your attention to read this piece and think about it thoroughly.

There is a popular saying and it goes,"if you don't know where you are coming from, you must know where you are heading to"

The journey to election 2020 starts from the decision we take today and we would be hold accountable to the next generation for the decision we will embark upon in the coming days.

We have had opportunity to read and listen to most of the aspirants and I think they equally posses some kind of great capacity and capabilities to move this party forward, however as we woke up from our bed and something came into our mind, and we would love to draw our attention to.

One may ask? Who qualifies to contest for that enviable position. The obvious answer would be, any npp member who meets statutory rules and regulations governing the party as well electoral laws in Ghana.

However, we must look at it critically from the realistic position, that is our vision and mission to win more seats, more votes, maintaining power as well as making Western a no go area for the NPP in the coming years.
