Kamal-Deen Abdulai, the National Nasara Coordinator of the ruling New Patriotic Party has revealed that his passion, zeal and commitment to see a vibrant NPP made him reject an offer made to him by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to serve in the Akufo-Addo led NPP government to serve in the party.

According kamal-Deen, shortly after the NPP won the 2016 election, the president invited him and promised him of an appointment in the government but “I said Mr. President, I would love to serve in the party than to serve in government.”

Kamal-Deen Abdulai who is aspiring to succeed Sammi Awuku as the party’s next National Youth Organiser made this revelation at the Upper West Regional Capital of Wa when he met a section of the party’s youth in the religion to inform them about his decision to contest for the youth organiser position. He had been gone to supervise the polling stations elections currently ongoing nationwide in the three Northern Regions when he used the opportunity to interact with some party youth organizers, deputy youth organisers, TESCON executives and some other party youth groups within the three Northern Regions.

Recounting the narratives, he stated that “the president called me and told me that Kamal, I will need you to serve in government. I then thanked the president for recognizing me and then told him in the face, Mr. President, I am sorry but I cannot take this appointment. The president asked me, Kamal why? My response was simple, Mr. President, do you remember the turbulence we had to go through for you to become the president? The Turbulence at the headquarters, the widespread misunderstanding across the regions and how some of us had to stand firm to calm all the waters for a successful election? If today, praise be to Allah you are president, already, you have taken Otiko out of the party into government, why would you want to take myself, Sammi and John Boadu too out of the party? Mr. President, let us remain in the party and continue to solidify the party because just as we need to form a strong government, we also need to maintain a solid political party. Then the president said, Kamal, thank you.”

Continuing, he added that “from there I called my brother Sammi and told him my interaction with the president. Sammi told me the president has invited him too and he may want to go into government so I told him if will go into government, then I will contest as the National Organiser because it had become clear that our boss John Boadu was leaving the organizer position for General Secretary.
After Sammi had gone to see the president, we had a conversation and he told me that he is no more interested in going into government but will also want to serve the party and he would be contesting for the organizer position. So I told him Sammi, no problem, metamorphosing from youth organizer to organizer will be a little bit easy, besides, I do not want us to contest ourselves, so if you are going for the organizer, then I would go for the youth Organiser whiles John (Boadu) also goes for the secretary so that the triangle who were in charge of operations during the 2016 campaign will continue to stay in the party.”

“Allah is my witness, the president is still alive and my brother Sammi Awuku is still there, anybody can contact any of them for the verification of this account that I have narrated. Yet today they say Sammi Awuku worked so hard, unopposed, John Boadu also likely to go unopposed. But Kamal, he must struggle, I have no problem, as an ardent Muslim I believe Allah has his own way of determining people’s destiny, and so I believe if he wants me to be the youth organizer, no human being can stop it.” He added.
