NPP adopts reviewed Constitution

The governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) has unveiled the party’s reviewed constitution following the adoption of a report of a committee that worked on the amendments to the party’s constitution.

The party, on December, 17, 2017, held an extraordinary delegates’ conference in Kumasi to consider all proposals and deliberate on the amendment of the party’s constitution.

Speaking at a news conference, the Acting General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu said the reviewed constitution adopted by the party will henceforth guide the party’s activities.

“It is worthy to note that a lot of the Articles in the previous constitution have been amended in various ways either by new insertions deletion or alterations. Some of the provisions were also streamlined and fine-tuned in order to do away with inconsistencies and enhance readability.”

The reviewed constitution now paves the way for the commencement of internal elections in the party, from scheduled to take of January, 17, 2018, according to the party.
