Techiman to host next NDC's Unity Walk

The 'Walk' is slated for December 30th 2017 The 'Walk' is slated for December 30th 2017

The Opposition National Democratic Congress is set to organize its fifth 'Unity Walk' in Techiman in the Brong Ahafo region.

The Walk which is termed 'Mobilization of the grassroots, a shared responsibility" is a means by the party to reorganize its grassroots and mend all broken relationships within the party during the 2016 elections.

The 'Unity Walk' which is slated for Saturday,December 30th will be led by former President John Dramani Mahama accompanied by former appointees of his government and leadership of the NDC.

Former President John Mahama has not yet declared his intention of leading the party in 2020 general elections, but inside critics believe that the Walk and other moves made by him are clear indications of his intentions to contest.

These speculations are fueled by the actions of some party executives and all ten regional chairmen who openly endorsed his candidature to lead the party.

Meanwhile, NDC is yet to hold its Presidential primaries in November 2018 to elect its Presidential Candidate for the 2020 general elections.

The 'Unity Walk' forms part of recommendations made by the Prof. Kwesi Botchwey committee after the party suffered a humiliating defeat in the 2016 general elections.
