Hajia Samira Bawumia fires up Zongo communities up north

The wife of the New Patriotic Party’s running mate, Samira Mahamadu Bawumia has urged the people of Gonjaland to reject the politics of deceit, lies and propaganda and vote for Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP who have demonstrated great ability and commitment to improving the lives of the ordinary Ghanaian and transforming Ghana.

She noted that the choice of her husband to partner Nana Akufo Addo for the second time was the recognition that the NPP has respect for the Muslim community in contributing to the development of the nation and therefore urged the electorates to assess the performance of the NPP and the NDC in government before casting their votes on December 7.

She intimated that a vote for NPP is a vote for prosperity, fair distribution of wealth and sustained development.

She accused the NDC and its surrogates of amassing wealth and building mansions to the detriment of the ordinary Ghanaians.

Hajia Samira Mahamadu Bawumia was addressing a durbar of the chiefs and people of the Zongo communities in the Central Gonja District of the Northern Region at Buipe and Yapei as part of her campaign tour of the region.

She accused the Mahama- led administration of putting the countrys financial coffers in crisis by borrowing more in their three and half years rule than all governments put together.

She assured residents of the NPPs commitment and dedication to revamp all the wonderful social interventions that were handed over to the NDC and yet witnessed the most abysmal management.

The NPP parliamentary candidate for the Yapei/Kusawgu constituency, Alhaji Yakubu Zakaria on his part pledged to be a Member of Parliament for residents irrespective of religion, party or tribe and noted the visit of the wife of their running mate was to surmount and enhance the healthy relationship between the NPP and the Zongo communities.

He lamented that since the assumption of the NDC, development of the area had come to a standstill and described as laughable vote buying strategy of his opponent as residents are now wide awake of their incessant propaganda and deception.

Alhaji Zakaria appealed for peace before, during and after the December elections to promote and propel the much needed development in the area. In his welcome address on behalf of the Hausa, Gaawa, Zambarama and Fulani chiefs, Alhaji Ali commended the wife of Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and the NPP for recognising the role the Zongos place in nation building.

He urged residents to honour the legacy of the late Former Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama by voting massively for the NPP.

Fifty supporters of the NDC who defected to the NPP were inaugurated and welcomed into the fold of the NPP by the wife of the running mate of the NPP and executives of the party in the constituency.
