Vetted ministerial appointees will sail through

Senior minister designate, Yaw Osafo Maafo. Senior minister designate, Yaw Osafo Maafo.

A political science analyst Amakye Boateng, has envisaged that vetted ministerial nominees will be approved by the Appointments Committee of Parliament.

He doubted if any of the tall brains nominated by the President Nana Addo Dankwa-Akufo will be rejected by the appointments committee.

So far the Senior minister designate Yaw Osafo Maafo, Kan Dapaah Minister designate for National security, Ambrose Dery Interior Minister designate, Gloria Akufo Attorney General Minister designate, Dominic Nitiwul Defence Minister designate have been vetted waiting their approval.

Speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkrah, he remarked that the already vetted nominees performed credibly during their vetting.

Mr Boateng indicated that these are men and women who have been through the mill and are abreast with the nitty-gritty in governance saying they will perform in their various sectors when given the opportunities.

The Political scientist expressed optimism that the Minister designate for Trade and Industry Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng who is scheduled to be vetted today will intelligently answer all questions that will pose to him.

‘…Osafo Maafo’s intelligence was way above the questions posed to him, truth be told Nana Addo has selected brains to assist him rule the nation and Alan Kyeremanteng is one of the guys who is witty. He has knowledge in the sector he has been nominated, he will definitely sail through. These guys have experiences, they have served in government during erstwhile Kufuor’s administration, that is the tradition Nana Addo is continuing,’ he expressed hope.

But he kicked against the nomination of Dominic Nitiwul as Defence Minister saying he should have been given a deputy ministerial role because he does not come close to the knowledge the other nominees have.

‘He should have been allowed to under study the big guys before reaching that position,’ he said.
