V/R Region Youth and Women's wings of NDC call for reconciliation

Ho, Sept 20, GNA - The Volta Region wings of the Women and Youth wings of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have called on the party's Council of Elders to work out an unconditional reconciliation of the party's Founder and its National Chairman in order to maintain the united front of the party.

A communiqu=E9 signed by Madam Mercy Kuada and Mr Maxwell Owusu-Siaw, Regional Women Organizer and Regional Youth Organizer respectively of the party, said if factionalism was allowed to rule the party then it risked becoming unattractive to the electorate and if this happened nobody's charisma could salvage the party.

The communiqu=E9 said blaming the party's defeat in the 2004 elections on some personalities in the party was self-defeating.

"Why are we running away from the facts of our defeat and wanting to apportion the blame on one particular person", the communiqu=E9 asked. The communiqu=E9 said the right atmosphere should be created to attract people "who fell off and are trying to come back".

It called for constructive approach towards resolving the personality differences in the party "before those of us in the Volta Region begin to advise ourselves".
