A 21-year-old unemployed man who attacked and robbed a Kente weaver at
Bonwire, has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in hard labour by the Juaben circuit court.

Emmanuel Okyere pleaded guilty and was convicted on his own plea by the court presided over by Mr Yusif Osei Asibey.

Police Inspector Jessie Ahiagmor, prosecuting, told the court that the convict was an unemployed while the complainant, Mr Divine Agbavor was a Kente weaver at Bonwire.

She said on March 23, this year, at about 2300 hours, the complainant was working at his shop when the convict suddenly appeared with cutlass and a pair of scissors and ordered him to surrender his money and mobile phones.

The prosecution said the convict took away his mobile phones, unspecified amount of money and escaped.

She said the complainant took notice of the features of

the robber and reported the incident to the Police who later arrested and brought him before the court.
