Twumase-Awuah to contest NPP chairmanship in B/A

Mr Kwame Twumasi-Awuah, a former Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive at the weekend declared his intention to contest the Chairmanship position of the New Patriotic Party in the Brong-Ahafo Region.

At a news conference in Sunyani, Mr Twumasi-Awuah, a legal practitioner, expressed his unhappiness about the dormant regional office of the party, saying that, it needed executives with a proven track record of commitment and hard work, who can work with the rank and file to arrest the dwindling fortunes of the party in the region.

“I know the political terrain of the region very well and I am the right person to prescribe solutions to solve the numerous problems confronting the party”, he stated.

Mr Twumasi-Awuah said the party in the region was currently divided because of some reason he declined to give, but was quick to add that, it needed a unifier to bring all members on board to work as a team and one family to secure victory in 2016.

“I have the political experience and temperament to make the party safe and secure in the 2016 elections”, he stressed, indicating that, he was ready to roll out pragmatic policies and programmes to propel the party to win convincingly in the region.

Mr Twumasi-Awuah observed that Brong-Ahafo had remained a deciding factor in every national election as votes obtained by a political party in the region played an influential role in determining the winner in every general election.

This, he explained was the reason why delegates must vote for him during the party’s internal elections, to be held in January 2014.
