Twenty-six people to contest 11 positions in Ashanti NDC

Kumasi, Nov 21, GNA - Twenty-six people have filed their nominations to contest 11 positions in the Ashanti Regional National Democratic Congress (NDC) at their forthcoming congress to be held on November 26 in Kumasi.

Mr. Daniel Ohene Agyekum, former Ashanti Regional Minister, is challenging Mr. Emmanuel Nti-Fordjour, the incumbent, for the regional chairmanship position.

Alhaji Sannie Mohammed and Oheneba Osei Bonsu will vie for the position of first vice-chairman, while Mr Alex Sawyerr will be the sole contestant for the second vice-chairmanship post.

Mr Yao Doe Tamakloe and Mr George Adu-Mensah are challenging Mr Sly Kodzo Akakpovie for the position of the regional secretary. Three people are contesting for the post of regional organizer. They are Mr Ibrahim Ahmed, Mr Kwasi Abayie and Mallam Baba Mohammed. Mr Raymond Tandoh, Mr Nassir Ossei Boosie, Hajia Hajara Sadiq and Mr Ibrahim Justice are contesting the post of treasurer. Alhaji Sofo Mohammed, Mr Tony Nyame and Mr Alex Yaw Opoku, the incumbent propaganda secretary will fight for that position, while Mr. Ibrahim Yakubu and Alhaji Bulla Mohammed will contest the post of assistant regional secretary.

The Deputy Regional Organiser's position will be contested for by Alhaji Sannie Abdulai and Mr Richard Kofi Agyapong, while Mr George Abofra and Alhaji Anyars Abdulai will contest for the post of deputy treasurer. Mr Rabiu Abdallah and Mr Wonder Winner Adinkrah will fight for the post of deputy regional propaganda secretary.
