Stop the lies; no candidate is sponsoring feeding and transportation of delegates – Alabi team

The campaign team of Prof Joshua Alabi, a flagbearer hopeful of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has debunked rumours making rounds that a candidate is taking care of the feeding and transportation of delegates who are to vote at tomorrow’s flagbearership primaries.

In a statement copied to GhanaWeb, the campaign team of the former Vice-Chancellor indicates that the falsehood is intended to favour a candidate against the others.

“Team Alabi wishes to put on record that the National Executives of the Party in their demand for each of the seven contestants to pay GH320,000.00 Cedis each as nomination and filing fees, justified the collection of the amount as monies meant to be used for feeding and transportation of delegates as well as other expenses for election day,” the statement reads on.

TEAM ALABI DISPELS FALSEHOOD

The campaign team of Prof Joshua Alabi, a National Democratic Congress Flagbearer aspirant, has learnt with dismay, information making the rounds among the NDC delegates who are to vote on Saturday, 23rd February 2019, that feeding and transportation for delegates during tomorrow's election of a Flagbearer is being sponsored by a particular candidate.

This falsehood being communicated to delegates is intended to unfairly give that particular candidate an edge over the other contestants.

Team Alabi wishes to put on record that the National Executives of the Party in their demand for each of the seven contestants to pay GH320,000.00 Cedis each as nomination and filing fees, justified the collection of the amount as monies meant to be used for feeding and transportation of delegates as well as other expenses for election day.

It is therefore strange and disingenuous for some persons to be peddling falsehood that, it is a particular contestant that is bearing the cost of feeding and transporting delegates to their voting centres on Saturday to elect a flagbearer for the NDC.

To dispel this falsehood that is fast gaining ground, Team Alabi is calling on the National Executives of the party to publicly speak to this issue and give clarity to the facts.

Team Alabi is reassuring delegates that Professor Joshua Alabi will always remain true and sincere to the hopes and aspirations that they the NDC branch executives especially hold dear and urge them to vote for him massively on Saturday, 23rd February, 2019.
