The leader of the Kejebi Shrine in the Northern Region, Chief Naatia Salifu, has called on the people of Ghana especially politicians to desist from making politics out of the Vice President’s ill health.

According to the well-known philanthropist and a peace advocate, the ongoing debates regarding the Vice President’s health is not good for harmonious socio-cultural and political coexistence and that, this is the time the people must pray to Allah to extend His healing hands on the Vice President.

“What we must be praying for now is for Allah to protect him and give him strength, and not for us to be making political mockery about his ill health,” he said.

Chief Naatia believes that the health of every leader must be a concern to all well-meaning Ghanaian and that the more people make such derogatory remarks about a leader who is unwell medically, the worse wish we are bringing onto the nation.

The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was taken ill in the early hours of Friday, 19th January 2018, after he reported feeling unwell.

He was attended to by his doctors, and undergone medical tests and observation.

Meanwhile, he has flown abroad for further checks and it's being reported that he's recovered and taking a short rest.

Chief Naatia Salifu is a philanthropist who has over the years supported children, the aged and inmates of witches’ camps in the Northern Region.

His support for the needy and orphans in the communities across the Northern Region has been tremendous and immeasurable.

His constant appeals for peace in the region have earned him the name ‘peacemaker’.

He has called on the people of Ghana to pray for the Vice President and the government as a whole so that together, they will be able to fulfil all promises they made to the people of Ghana.
