Rivalry among political parties not in the national interest

Takoradi, Oct 03, GNA - Prophet Samuel Osei-Tutu, General Overseer of the Breakthrough Chapel at Takoradi, has said rivalry among political parties after the 2004 general elections did not promote peace in the country.

He said parties are still trading insults ''though they are supposed to work for the development of the nation.'' Prophet Osei-Tutu said this at the first anniversary celebrations of the women's ministry of the church at Takoradi on Sunday. He said bad leadership had robbed Africa of its share of the development agenda and efforts must be made to reverse the trend. "I believe that Africa can achieve its developmental goals if its leaders were transparent, willing to sacrifice and prepared to endure hardship."

''I appeal to present and past heads of state to work closely for the growth of the nation and to avoid the political vendetta.''
