Pastor begs Military to forgive Denkyiraboase community

Calvary Charismatic Church Head Pastor, Rev. Ransford Obeng has pleaded with the Military to forgive the people of Denkyira-boase for killing their Captain, Maxwell Mahama.

He said: “My message for the military is that God says vengeance is mine and so it is only God who has the right so let’s forgive them. In fact for even surrounding and walking through the village is a torment in itself and I believe the villagers have learnt a lesson and will not repeat it. I share their deep sorrow and it is not easy to lose a loved one so I sympathise with them”.

He indicated that he was delighted the action of both political divides in the country by condemning the act

““I am so happy that for the first time, political parties all in parliament stood to condemn that act and I want to congratulate them for once. At least they have done something which is good.”

Rev. Ransford Obeng who was speaking at a blood donation exercise organized as part of events to mark his 61st birthday was hopeful that such acts will not repeat itself in any part of the country in the future.

Captain Mahama was beaten to death by residents of Diaso in the Central region and his death has left many in the country in shock.

Meanwhile, 18 people have been arrested in connection to the murder whiles seven have been remanded to re-appear before court on June 19.
