PNC maintains Sissala East parliamentary candidate for 2020

The People's National Convention (PNC) has retained Mr Kingsley Kanton as its Parliamentary Candidate for the Sissala East constituency ahead of the 2020 Parliamentary elections.

Mr Kanton, a 37-year-old law student and a development consultant who contested unopposed at the PNC parliamentary primary was given a popular acclamation by the 450 party's delegates in the Sissala East constituency.

The party also maintained some of its old executives including; Mr Alendu Moro and Amadu Seidu as the constituency Chairman and Secretary respectively.

Mr Kingsley Kanton called on members to rally behind him with support to capture the parliamentary seat in the area and ensure victory for the party in the 2020 elections.

He urged the party members to collectively work in peace and harmony at all levels especially the grassroots to help canvass votes for the party and bring development to improve on the lives of people in the area.

"It is painful to see that our roads are deplorable, fertilizers are not getting to farmers and the environment destroyed and affecting our development" he said.

?“The PNC will go into next year’s election with a vision of creating wealth for all including; working for women empowerment, education, health, agriculture and more” Mr Kingsley stressed.

Mr Alendu Moro, the Sissala East Chairman told the delegates that “The PNC will not engage in 'skirt and blouse' votes this time round, but shall water the ‘Sissala tree’ planted by the late Imoro Egala and Dr. Hilla Liman and the party elders and executives".?

Mr Alendu blamed the bad communication network and the poor roads in the Sissala East on lack of commitment by political leaders and therefore appealed to the Sissala people to vote for Kingsley Kanton to change the story in 2020.

Mr Kingsley Kanton, also a founder of Save -Ghana, an NGO in Sissala East and working in the Upper West region, was in 2016 given the same mandate and unfortunately lost about 800 votes to the eventual NPP candidate who got 8,811 votes whilst Kingsley placed second with 8,015 votes according to the Electoral Commission's declared results.
