Oteng-Agyei elected as NDC parliamentary candidate for Bosomtwe

Kuntanase (Ash), July 14, GNA - Dr Joseph Oteng-Agyei, an Academic Registrar at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), has been elected the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Bosomtwe in Ashanti.

He was elected by popular acclamation by all the 172 delegates at a primary supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC) at Kuntanase. Addressing the delegates, Mr Ativor Sawyer, Ashanti Regional second Vice-Chairman of the NDC, said the party has intensified its campaign efforts which would increased the chances of the NDC in the December elections.

He, therefore, urged party activists to work hard at the grassroots by explaining the party's manifesto to the citizenry. Mr Sawyer attributed the party's low performance in the last elections to the poor work done by some of their polling agents who were not vigilant enough to ensure fairness at the polling stations. He cautioned supporters and the rank and file of the party to shun divisive tendencies that could thwart their campaign and their determination to chalk landslide victory. Dr Oteng-Agyei commended the delegates for their commitment, dedication and unflinching support for him and pledged to work feverishly to the seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
