The newly formed Central Regional Forward Operating Base (FOB) of Operation Vanguard Joint Taskforce (JTF) has arrested a Chinese and three Ghanaians, including a woman at Nkutumso in the Upper Denkyira East District.

The suspects; Luo, Peter Boadi, Sammy Tambia and Diana Ndego were arrested on May 9 at dawn whilst items including three Sany excavators, two water pumping machines and a Toyota Hilux pick-up with the registration number, GT 9313-12 were also seized.

Squadron Leader Robison Omane Agyei, the Public Relations Officer, who made this known, said the suspects, together with the items, have been handed over to the Ayanfuri Police for further investigations.

He warned that those supporting the illegal activities should desist from it.

Mr. Agyei said the team would bring all illegal miners to face the law if they did not stop their activities, to enable the government to regularise the mining sector in a more sustainable way for the entire country to benefit.

Squadron Leader Agyei thanked the public for its support in offering information, which he said, had indeed helped the team to make a headway.
