Naa Torshie behind concocted passport BNI story - Ahenkorah

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Tema West has accused incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Irene Naa Torshie Addo of concocting a story claiming he is being wanted by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).

According to Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, the allegation is just an attempt to sabotage him few months to a crucial elections.

The Monday June 6 edition of the New Crusading Guide newspaper reported that the BNI and Immigrations Service are investigating the NPP Tema West Parliamentary candidate for possessing and travelling with two different Ghanaian passports in a week.

A source quoted by the newspaper said Mr. Ahenkorah travelled on Emirates Airline 788 from Accra through Abidjan to Dubai on September 23, 2014 with Passport number G0555553 and returned to Accra on October 25, 2014 with a different passport number H2376509 on Emirates Airline 787.

“It is out of ordinary that an individual would possess two different passports from the same country and that is why the BNI has called in the Immigration Service to assist in the investigations”, it added.

But Carlos Ahenkorah in a rebuttal on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Programme Monday said the report is a “clear case of sabotage.

He explained that, the issue about his passports were resolved in March 2015 by the BNI and hence could not fathom why it has been revived.
The NPP man was convinced incumbent MP, Naa Torshie who first took him to the BNI is the same person behind the ‘cooked story’.

“I had six passports; three have expired so when Naa Torshie reported me to the BNI and they investigated, they gave all of them back to me so why would anybody want to do this?," he quizzed.

Carlos Ahenkorah said he is now waking up to reality that the incumbent MP is involved in “dirty politics” to ensure he loses the Tema West seat.

“I never knew someone from your own party will seek your downfall; when Dr. Bawumia came to the constituency, she schemed to ensure the programme will flop. She should know that the party is not for her,” he fumed.

Mr. Ahenkorah called on the national executives and all well meaning NPP members who want victory at Tema West to “stand up against this injustice”.
