NDC infighting: Reserve your bullets for NPP in 2016 – Amaliba to NDC

A member of the governing Party has urged leaders and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stop the internal “mudslinging”, which has characterised campaigning for the ongoing national delegates’ congress, and rather reserve their “bullets” for the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2016 national general elections.

The congress is currently underway at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi – the stronghold of the main opposition NPP.

About 70 aspirants are standing for various positions – Chairman, General Secretary, Organiser among others – in the party.

Ahead of Saturday’s congress, there have been veiled and subtle swipes and jab at certain camps in recriminatory style.

The jabs have been particularly evident between National Organiser Aspirants Kofi Adams and incumbent Yaw Boateng Gyan. Incumbent General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia also joined the fray when he questioned the loyalty of Adams.

Speaking to Ultimate Breakfast Show host Prince Minkah at the congress grounds, Abraham Amaliba said rather than turning their guns on each other, leaders and members of the party should reserve their arsenals for the NPP in the coming 2016 elections.

“In this grounds, we don’t have our opponent here, in this grounds, we have family members, out opponents are those we are going to meet in 2016 so le’s marshal our arsenals, let’s not waste our bullets, let’s keep them for 2016 and they are the ones that we would have to fire our bullets at,” Amaliba said.
