NDC Council of Elders urged to help calm growing uneasiness

Kumasi, April 28, GNA - A leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Sulemana Gado, has appealed to the Council of Elders to do everything to calm the growing uneasiness and mend cracks in the party ahead of its upcoming National Delegates' Conference. He described as 93disturbing" current developments in the party and said this should not be allowed to continue. Alhaji Gado told the GNA in an interview that it was important the party's elders acted quickly to help all factions to smooth over their differences.

Alhaji Gado, who looked visibly distraught, said 93it will be politically suicidal for anyone to pretend that all is well with the party."

Alhaji Gado said the NDC would need to go into Election 2012 with a more united front and counselled that the members and supporters avoided acts likely to create division and fuel apathy. He urged especially government's appointees to be circumspect in their utterances and to relate well to everybody in the party. "Nobody should be made to feel that he or she is either sidelined or unwanted in our great party", he added. 28 April 11
