Mahama is still walking in his mistakes - Moshake

Mr Stephen Ashitey Adjei, an NDC Executive member of the Tema East constituency has stated that the mistakes that led former President John Dramani Mahama to a humiliating defeat were still not lingering around him.

He said although, the former President suggested in his utterances that things could change for the better, nothing concrete had been done to correct the mistakes.

In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, Mr Adjei said: ”How can the former President say he was correcting the past mistakes when he is still moving around with the same people who caused our defeat in the polls”?

“The first clue is to look at the people he has still surrounded himself with – the same people who misled him into barricading himself from the party when he was President,” Mr. Ashitey Adjei said.

He said the former President’s decision to even run again was made on the bad advice from the people surrounding him.

“It is clear that Mr Mahama is still poised to depend on the people who misled him when he was President; obviously he has not changed his ways, he is still walking in his old mistakes,” Moshake said.

He, therefore, urged delegates of the party not to be deceived into thinking that the former President had reformed his ways and could do anything different.

Mr Mahama recently told delegates of the party that he had learnt his lessons from the defeat he led the NDC to suffer in 2016 and that, the mistakes that were made would not be repeated.

He said his claims could only be taken seriously if he reconciled with former President Jerry John Rawlings, who is the party’s Founder.
