The former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwadwo Osei Afriyie popularly called Sir John has called on Ghanaians to ignore the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) for failing Ghanaians.

He said members of NDC are just throwing dust in the eyes of the public for saying the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) is working when indeed its collapsing.

He claimed families and cronies of President Mahama are sent Abroad for medical treatment when they are sick and that they do not feel the impact of the collapsed NHIS.

Sir John added that members of NPP are always on the ground with the people and hence know their problems unlike the President who is always cooling off in Dubai.

According to him, pregnant women and sick children who used to access free healthcare during erstwhile Kufuor’s administration cannot do that anymore.

Speaking with Kwame Adinkrah host of Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo, he indicated that NDC is deceiving Ghanaians with empty promises just to score cheap political points.

The former General Secretary of NPP called on Ghanaians to vote massively for Nana Addo and NPP to win power during the elections to change the fortunes of the country.

‘We are not the only party complaining about the ailing NHIS, NDC members can attest to the fact that it is collapsing, they have been facing challenges anytime they go to the various government hospitals, if its working we all benefit if its not working it also affect them. I am not surprised that they are saying NHIS is not collapsing, because their families and cronies so they do not hear the numerous complaints from Ghanaians. We are always on the grounds, we are in this country, so we know the worries of the people. they will know if its working or not after the elections,’ he said.

Touching on a promise by the Minister of Communications Edward Omane Boamah that the NDC government will collect every pesewa of judgement debt paid embattled businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome, Sir John pointed out that the NDC government cannot be trusted anymore.
