Actor and comedian Kofi Boadi also known as ‘Akrobeto’ has established that Former President Mahama’s decision to contest NDC’s flagbearership position can be likened to a ‘call for rematch’ thrown at his political opponents.

He said Mahama, affirming his interest in the 2020 polls is the best decision though it’s been widely speculated that he is an ineffectual candidate.

In a live news telecast read by Akrobeto (Real News’), the comedian said there is the need for Ghanaians to give the former president another chance to right the wrongs which caused his defeat in 2016 general elections.

“Our father John Mahama has decided to re-contest the upcoming elections. He really deserves to contest. In life, when one fights and loses a battle, a rematch is required of that person. Mahama is right. Let’s all support him to win. Interestingly he has paid a visit to Rawlings, who is the party’s founder to seek for blessings. JM Ghana welcomes you. Goodluck to you and we hope to win”. He stated.

Mahama and the NDC Flagbearership race

Insisting that his focus was on restructuring the party, President John Dramani Mahama has submitted to the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) his letter of intent to contest the upcoming NDC Presidential Primaries.

Mahama’s support from his party did not wane despite overseeing one of Ghana’s worst election performances.

The former president was also the ‘face’ of the NDC’s Unity Walks and he elicited massive support from the grassroots, which constantly urged him to stop playing ‘timid’ over his future intentions to contest.

Meanwhile, some 94 Members of Parliament are said to have endorsed him as flagbearer for the 2020 polls under controversial circumstances.
