Kwabena Agyapong is NPP's 'Judas' - Lawyer

Kwabena Agyapong has been suspended indefinitely by NPP Kwabena Agyapong has been suspended indefinitely by NPP

A Private Legal Practitioner Kwame Adofo has accused the suspended General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of being the Judas of the party.

He accused Mr Kwabena Agyapong of betraying the party by selling party information to his paymasters in other political parties describing his action as ‘political suicide’.

Some NPP youth have been rooting for the reinstatement of Mr Agyapong.

But speaking on Ultimate Breakfast Show with Lantam Papanko, Lawyer Adofo contends that Mr Agyapong deserves to remain suspended to serve as a deterrent to others.

He said the NPP risk losing vital information to its opponents if the suspended General Secretary is reinstated.

Lawyer Adofo suggested to Mr Agyapong to rescind his decision of joining his party again by forming alliance with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and that he cannot be trusted again by the bigwigs in NPP.

He deeply discounted that the party can repose confidence in Mr Agyapong not to leak NPP information to former President John Dramani Mahama and his brother, Ibrahim Mahama.

‘Kwabena Agyapong is a Judas of NPP, no way should he be reinstated…after Judas regretted what he did, he threw the money away and hanged himself. Kwabena Agyapong has committed a political suicide, he’s finished as far as the NPP is concerned, he’s better of joining the NDC if he is to have any future. But as far as NPP is concerned, he is finished, how can you trust somebody who compromised you when NPP was in opposition, and now that the party is in power.

‘What else can’t he do, when he is going to sit in cabinet, are you going to trust that he will not leak information to former President John Dramani Mahama and his brother, Ibrahim Mahama, that is a disaster, its serious. I am telling you now, he’s the Judas of NPP, put me on record, the moment you bring him back, your party is finished,’ he said.

Mr Agyapong was suspended along with the party’s 2nd vice Chairman Sammy Crabbe for misconduct when the party decided to suspend its Chairman Paul Afoko.

He was also accused of engaging in “unilateral actions and activities without consultation of, or authorization by the NEC.”
