The Omanhene of Kumawu Traditional Area, Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua, has cautioned chiefs against dabbling in partisan politics.

He was addressing chiefs at a meeting of the Kumawu Traditional Council on Monday.

The Kumawuhene said chiefs, as agents of development, should support whoever emerges winner at the December elections, and not to be seen to play active partisan roles.

The Omanhene said it was only proper that chiefs lend support to a government in power to accelerate development in their respective areas, and not to be seen as part of electioneering campaign teams of political parties.

Barima Tweneboa Kodua also entreated the chiefs to work against violence during the elections.

He said they should guide their subjects, particularly, the youth, to avoid conflicts as much as possible, to ensure peaceful elections.
