Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder, Victor Wanyama has congratulated the national team following the team’s 1-0 win over Ghana on Saturday 8th September.

Kenya managed to pick a rare victory over the West Africans at Moi International Sports Center Kasarani, to register their first win in the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification matches.

Nicholas Opoku scored a first-half own goal to gift Stars maximum points and a boost to the qualification campaign.

The Harambee Stars skipper man missed the match due to fitness issues and was initially criticized for not honour call-up.

Congratulations

Wanyama has however taken to social media to congratulate Harambee Stars for dimming Black Stars at home.

"Congratulations to Harambee Stars for the important win against Ghana. Well done Harambee Stars," Wanyama said in an Instagram post.

Next for Harambee Stars is a friendly match against Malawi scheduled for Tuesday 11th September at Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.
