Former Ghana FA Executive Committee member George Afriyie has cast doubts over whether he will run to become the next President of the GFA.

The experienced football administrator earlier this year announced he will contest the GFA elections in 2019 in an attempt to succeed Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Afriyie who served as the immediate Vice President of the Ghanaian federation now seems unsure of running especially in the aftermath of the Anas exposé.

“Everyone knows that I was a candidate for the GFA Presidency in 2019,” he told Oyerepa FM.

“For now, circumstances have changed. I have that patience.

“There is a group leading the process for now and we must support them.

“If the group completes its work and their program is good and I want to contest I will.”

The Ghana FA is now being run by a Normalisation Committee appointed by FIFA.

Its mandate is to end on March where they are expected to amongst other things supervise an election that will usher in the new GFA administration.
