Former Education Minister and High Commissioner to South Africa Ambassador, Mr. Lee Ocran has advised aspirants who are unable to raise the GH¢400k filing fees to shelve their presidential ambition and stay in their homes and allow those who will be able to do to go ahead.

He wonders how these same aspirants complaining of not being able to raise the stated amount went round campaigning in various constituencies throughout the country readying themselves for the exercise only to be crying more than the bereaved.

“If you have no money stay at home don’t participate. Those who want to participate will find money and pay. Nobody is asking you to go and empty your bank account. Since you have supporters they should be able to contribute and fund you if you are a good candidate”, he stated in an interview with Empire Fm in Takoradi MyNewsGh.com.

So far pour aspirants have picked nomination forms as at Tuesday, December 4, 2018 to contest for the flag bearer of the party.

They include; Former president John Mahama, Prof Joshua Alabi, Mr Sylvester Mensah and Mr Stephen Atubiga with lingering doubts about the fate of Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Member of Parliament (MP) for Cape Coast South, George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, Dr Ekwow Spio Garbrah, NDC returnee Goosie Tanoh, businessman, Nurudeen Iddrisu and Legal practitioner, Elikplim Agbemava.

Mr Lee Ocran however believes that those who claim they are dragging the matter to the founder of the party may as well go to him for their filing fees.

“They say they are going to their founder. Let them go there if he gives them their money, the Congress will be held”, he said.
