Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal is ‘Best Performing Minister’ for 2018

Minister for Business Development, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal has been named the Best Performing Minister for 2018.

This was announced by research firm, FAKS Investigative Services in its 7th annual survey.

The researchers assessed the performance of Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and Regional Ministers, and out of ten (10) Ministers presented, Dr. Mohammed Awal was rated number one with a score of 93.18%.

Regional Reorganization and Development Minister, Dan Kwaku Botwe took the second spot followed by Railway Development Minister Joe Ghartey.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Education Minister was rated fourth, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto - Food and Agriculture Minister came fifth and Isaac Youth and Sports Minister Kwame Asiamah coming sixth.

Interior Minister Ambrose Dery, Roads and Highways Minister Kwesi Amoako Atta, Health Minister Kwaku Agyemang Manu and Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah occupied the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions respectively.

FAKS Investigative explains that the survey focused on project initiatives, the execution and the impacts of the projects on society and Ghanaians at large.

“Some of the project initiatives that dominated and informed our decision included Presidential Pitch, a Business Idea Contest that gave support to 20 beneficiaries with amount ranges between GHc25,000 and GHc50,000; The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP) program which offered support to 7, 000 young entrepreneurs with start-ups and small businesses across the country,” FAKS revealed in the report signed by its CEO, Fred Yaw Sarpong.

The survey, according to the research firm took place between October and December 2018.

Respondents such as students, petty traders, journalists, MPs, civil society organizations (CSOs), traditional rulers, academia, business owners, commercial drivers, and others contributed to the survey.
