Aide to a former president of Ghana, Joyce Bawah Mogtari has been served a swift rebuke after casting doubt on the number of coronavirus recovery cases Ghana recorded yesterday, May 15.

The country saw its highest single-day recovery of COVID-19 patients when the Ghana Health Service announced the recovery of 790 persons bringing the total to 1,460.

However, Joyce Bawah Mogtari finds it difficult to believe more people have been healed of the virus calling for a probe to authenticate the recoveries.

Her tweet, emphasized with a single exclamation, drew criticisms on Twitter.

“How the hell did 790 more people recover overnight! We need to put these numbers to strict proof!"

Several people chimed in on the tweet condemning her statement as one that reflected fear instead of excitement.

One social media user said “You said there was no coronavirus but the government only wants to spend $100m. Then you said the government instituted lockdown because they want to rig election. Then you said the numbers are low, the government is hiding figures. Now you say you don’t understand why people are recovering.”
