Asante Kotoko Executive Chairman Kwame Kyei will pick a nomination form to contest the Ghana Football Association presidency.

Notable among them are former Vice president George Afriyie, Tema Youth bankroller Wilfred Osei Palmer, MTN FA cup chairman Kurt Okraku, Phar Rangers CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah and Great Olympics chief Fred Pappoe.

Special assistant to Dr Kyei, Nana Kwasi Gyambibi affectionately called Coker confirmed the news during an interview with Kumasi-based radio station Kumasi FM.

“I’m confirming that Dr Kwame Kyei will pick his nomination forms and contest for the president of the GFA should the process be open today. I have been instructed by him(Dr Kyei) to tell and to confirm to Ghanaians that he will contest for the presidency,” Nana Kwasi confirmed.

“In his private life, he has always been a football fan, understands football and has been a part of football except that he wasn’t into mainstream football. After taking over Asante Kotoko for the past three years and being in mainstream football administration, he has achieved a lot with Kotoko by consistently playing in the African club Competitions and ensuring that he maintain a team, paying huge salaries every month and ensuring his club is well decorated.”

One of the mandates of the Normalization committee is to organize elections and After the adoption of the statutes, the one part of the mandates left to be fulfilled is the organization of elections for a new leadership to take over the football association.
