Following Ghana’s unconvincing performance in the 2019 AFCON in Egypt, Chairman for the Parliamentary Select Committee On Youth, Sports and Culture, Hon. Alex Agyekum believes lack of commitment on the part of the players caused the Black Stars early exit from the continental showpiece.

The Black Stars fell out on 5-4 on penalties to Tunisia in the Round of 16 stages to say a painful goodbye to the tournament.

Coach Kwasi Appiah’s side only managed a win out of four matches played.

The Stars’ awful performance in the tournament has been blamed on a poor commitment by the players according to the Ghana lawmaker.

Speaking on Nimde3 95.1 FM, the Parliamentarian said,” The players should show some sign of commitment when dowing the national team jersey.”

Ghana’s exit from the tournament is the first time in 11 years that the Black Stars have failed to pick a semi-final ticket.
