A former Deputy Power minister, John Jinapor’s home was on Friday morning raided by some personnel from the Police Service and National Security.

Mr. John Jinapor told Kasapa 102.5 FM that this was in connection with the 2015 AMERI deal.

According to him, he’d prepared leaving for Parliament early this morning, when the armed security men besieged his home and held him together with the family for close to two hours.

He claimed two of the police men effecting the raid were armed with AK 47 assault rifles

” This happened in the full glare of my little children and they were scared. I even told them I’m on my way to parliament; I’ve dressed up ready to leave the house and you are not supposed to impede me but they insisted until they finished with what they wanted to do I cannot leave the house.

They told me they have a search warrant from the court and they’re in search of documents related to the AMERI contract.

They ransacked my home but they didn’t find anything. Then they requested to have my laptop, pendrive, and I told them I don’t have those gadgets. So finally they seized my cell phone and went away with it.”

This comes days after the former Minister for Power, Kwabena Donkor, also had his home raided by some personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on Monday morning.
