The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Zongo Development Fund (ZDF), Alhaji Mohammed Baba Alhassan, recently engaged with the National Nasara Coordinator, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa, and his 10 regional coordinators at his office in Accra.

The meeting discussed the terms of reference of the ZDF and the roles of the Nasara coordinators towards the achievement of its objectives.

He told his guests that the fund would focus on financing education, the development of educational infrastructure and the organization of training programmes for Zongo youths.

The fund, he continued, would be invested in basic services that would support the vulnerable children, men and women in the Zongo communities.

The CEO told his guests that he and his team would soon embark on a nationwide tour of the country with a view to sensitizing stakeholders about the programmes of the fund.

On his part, the National Nasara Coordinator expressed gratitude for the engagement, adding that the Nasara Wing of the party hopes that the ZDF will afford its members the opportunities of benefiting from its programmes.

Supporting the CEO during the workshop was one of his deputies – Baba Sadik.

In a related development, the CEO told DAILY GUIDE that the ZDF is open to suggestions on how to improve the delivery of its services.

The Zongos, he said, had been blessed with a wonderful President who has made good his promise of uplifting the living standards of Zongo indigenes.

Now that a secretariat is in place, work has started in earnest, he said, adding that “we would entreat all Zongo residents to cooperate with us to move the vision forward. We have a wonderful plan which would, all things being equal, change the face of the Zongos.”

The recently announced projects for the Zongos have the potential to uplift the living conditions of the people of the Zongos.

“For the first time in the history of the country, we have a Zongo Ministry and an implementing agency – the Zongo Development Fund – which will alter positively the image of the Zongos. We shall touch base with all our stakeholders across the country to prepare the grounds for the earnest takeoff of the many projects of the fund,” he stated.
