We appreciate your very fruitful visit to our region - N/R NPP to Akufo-Addo

The rank and file of the New Patriotic Party in the Northern Region of Ghana have expressed their appreciation to President Akufo-Addo for his three-day visit to the region.

A statement signed by the ruling Party’s regional Secretary Lawyer Sulley Sambian and copied to MyNewsGH.com gave a synopsis of the various places the President visited and the key milestones chalked under each instance.

The statement extended appreciation to the Chiefs, security agencies and the media who made the President’s visit worthwhile for the entire 3 day duration of the tour.

It is often said that ‘thank you’ is an expression from a happy heart. It is in finding solace in this saying that the Regional Chairman, the Regional Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party and indeed the entire membership of the NPP wish to express our appreciation to the people of Northern Region especially our revered Chiefs, the security agencies, government departments and the media for the warm reception accorded the President H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo on his three-day tour of the region.

The President’s tour, embarked annually is intended to afford the president an opportunity to interact with Ghanaians and to ascertain for himself development projects undertaken by the government.

The President began his three days tour of the region in the newly created Bunpurugu/Nakpanduri district where he received a tumultuous welcome by the people, at a durbur organised in his honour.

In his speech, the president underscored the commitment of the NPP government to ensure equitable distribution of the national cake, stressing that construction works on the Nalerigu Bunkpurugu road will begin this year.

He commended the people for eventually smoking the peace pipe.

In Nalerigu, where the President was honored with a chieftaintcy title, the president reiterated the government’s promise to complete the eastern corridor road and other road networks linking the mamprugu traditional area.

Mr President the NPP in the Region and indeed the people of Northern Region are grateful to you for your assurance of finding lasting solution to the Dagbon crises, a situation that has impacted negatively towards peace and security in the area. We are confident you are more than determined to live up to this commitment. Lastly, we thank the good people of Northern Region for the orderly manner in which we conducted ourselves during the president’s visit
